Finding your JW Library study answers (fill-in answers) in one place

Your typed answers to study-article and workbook questions are hidden in your backup. Study Explorer's Study Answers tab lets you read, search and edit them all at once.

As you study, you type answers into the fill-in boxes of study articles, the Watchtower, and meeting workbooks. They're saved in your backup — but JW Library only shows each one buried in its own publication. There's no single place to review everything you've written. Study Explorer's Study Answers tab is that place.

Step by step

  1. Load your backup into Study Explorer

At jwsync.org, load your .jwlibrary file and open the Study Answers tab.

  2. Read all your answers together

Every fill-in answer you've typed appears in one searchable list, so you can review a whole study article's worth of your own thinking at a glance.

  3. Search and edit

Find an answer by its text, then edit and polish it in place — helpful when reviewing before a meeting or tidying up rushed wording.

  4. Export or restore

Restore the edited file to carry your changes back to JW Library, or copy answers out as text for a talk or personal record.

Why this is useful before meetings

Reviewing your prepared answers in one continuous list — rather than scrolling each paragraph in the app — is a faster way to refresh what you planned to say, and to spot answers you left blank.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the same as my personal notes?
No — fill-in answers are the responses you typed into a publication's answer boxes. Study Explorer shows them on their own tab, separate from freeform notes.
Is anything uploaded to read my answers?
No. Like everything in JW Sync, your backup is read locally in the browser and never sent anywhere.
